71st Annual Inspection 155 Borden Gray Air Cadets

Awards, presentations, pipe band and drill demonstrations was what the cadets of the 155 Borden Gray Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron, (RC(AIR)C Sqn.) showed those gathered at this past weekend’s 71 Annual Inspection.
Mr. Hugh Hamilton, President of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 374, St. Joseph Island, was the Reviewing Officer.
A combined Pipe Drum Band, made up of members of the 155 Air and 2310 Army Cadet Bands played while highland dancers from the two prior mentioned units and the 46 Royal Sovereign Sea Cadets danced to the music.
Those in attendance enjoyed the performance.
Some of the award recipients were Flight Sergeant Max Warren who received the Lord Strathcona Medal of Excellence.
This award is the highest award a cadet can be bestowed, which recognizes exemplary performance in physical and military training.
Receiving the Royal Canadian Legion Medal of Excellence was Flight Corporeal Julie Mullins for individual endeavors in citizenship and meet or enhance the aims and objectives of the cadet movement.
Other awards were presented for first year proficiency, senior proficiency, most improved cadet, marksmanship and music to name a few.
Three air cadets from 155 RC(AIR)CSqn. have earned through high marks in the flight training test to participate in summer flight training.
Both Avery Simmons and Chris Seymour have been selected for Glider Pilot training.
Max Warren has been selected for Power Pilot Training.
He successfully completed his glider pilot training last summer. It is very rare that three cadets earn the opportunity from the same cadet squadron.
The 155 RC(AIR)Csqn. meets on Wednesday nights at the Sault Ste Marie Armoury on Pine Street.
